How to use YouTube for social media marketing

    How much time do you spend watching videos every day? Which one do you prefer to watch, text versus video? The answer is clear. As video becomes more and more popular, the YouTube platform becomes more and more influential,  and people have even started to learn knowledge through videos, such as makeup, cooking, fitness, and repair, etc. Youtube is slowly becoming an integral part of people's lives. What I'm going to share today is how to be a YouTuber and be able to promote yourself. Let's get started.

    First, a brief introduction to YouTube.

    1. YoTube is the second largest search engine in the world.

    2. YouTube has more than 1 billion users, almost a third of all Internet users.

    How to do YouTube video marketing? The general idea of the operation is:

    Create a YouTube channel and build a brand;

    Making videos for YouTube;

    Build a YouTube marketing strategy;

    Optimize SEO videos;

    Conduct data analysis;

    Launch a YouTube advertising campaign.

    1. Set goals

    You need to set goals. What do you want to achieve? Such as: Build your brand and expand your influence? Attract web traffic? Improve conversion rates? A common problem with most businesses is that they try to create content that achieves all of these goals. Each content you create achieves a different goal, so the first step is to identify what the goal is. Goal setting can help you make your plan.

    2. Make videos that the audience follows

    Now that you have your goal in mind, it's time to create the video. Although you will be using YouTube to build brand awareness, you still need to find a good balance between creating interesting content and creating valuable content that audiences will be interested in.

    Therefore, your video should try to do the following:

    Get the audience engaged;

    Entertaining;

    Valuable;

    Can satisfy the audience's curiosity needs.

   As a result, the type of video produced on YouTube for businesses is often teaching style content.

    For example :

NikkieTutorials

    She has 13.6 million subscribers.

    All of her videos revolve around teaching viewers to do makeup

   Whether it's "Get Glam With SELENA GOMEZ & Me! ", "POWER OF MAKEUP: KIM KARDASHIAN WEST", "POWER OF MAKEUP: DOUTZEN KROES" - she knows exactly what audiences want to see and that's how they make it.

    3. carry out keyword research

    The next step is to upload the video to YouTube. When you do this, you will need to do keyword research so that your viewers can find your video, and your keywords must be relevant to your video content.

    Uploading videos is simple, and YouTube asks you to provide video titles, short descriptions, and keyword tags.

    By making videos that answer viewers' questions and using the right keywords on YouTube, you are likely to attract future users who might buy your product.

    4. Use annotations

    Annotations are basically clickable links that you can insert into your video, which is a great way to entice people back to your site to help create more leads.

    5. Choose an attractive thumbnail

    It's important to choose thumbnails because, as much as we hate to admit it, we judge a book or movie by its cover! A lot of popular videos are made with interesting thumbnails to get people to watch them. So what is a good thumbnail?

    The best thumbnails are:

    Emotionally invested;

    Related to video content;

    attractive.

    6. Promotion in various ways

    Promoting your videos on other channels can really help you with video marketing on YouTube.

    Some of the key techniques include:

    1. Blog and include a link to the video in your post

    2. Send video links via email

    3. Upload it to your social media

    4. Reach out to relevant influencers and ask them if they'd like to share

    5. Write a guest message around your video content and link back to it

    6. Pay for advertising to promote your video and YouTube channel

    By posting your videos on other channels, this will help increase the number of views of that particular video and increase the exposure on your YouTube channel.

    7. Analyze data

    The final step is to analyze the data because this will help you create better videos in the future. YouTube provides views, who are watching them, where they are being viewed, how long the viewer has been watching the video, and retention rates.

    Using YouTube to market your videos will definitely help increase awareness. Once you've laid the groundwork for a great video format, you'll find it easy to market to an audience.

I hope everyone who reads my blog will become a good YouTuber!

  1. Hi Kaiyu,
    Great post! It is clear that YouTube has becoming increasingly more popular as a way for organizations and even individuals to promote their content. The website, like all other social networks provides such a broad reach for creators who are seeking to reach a large audience. Personally, I use YouTube everyday as it has an endless supply of visual content to be explored. Because of its accessibility and broad reach, I wouldn't be surprised to see more companies utilize YouTube to a greater extent as a marketing tactic in the future.

  2. Hi Kaiyu,

    I found this post to be really informative and helpful! I've always wanted to start my own youtube page for music, but have felt confused as to how I would get anyone to see it, or how to mess around with the youtube algorithm. I think it's easy to get overwhelmed with the promotional aspect of creating videos, but you explained it in a way that makes it seem not as daunting. If I do end up making a channel and uploading content, I'll definitely refer to your helpful tips.
